It’s been a truly memorable week for swimmer Molly Renshaw, as she was crowned WORLD Short Course 200m Breaststroke Champion.
Molly won the title in Windsor, Canada, in a time of 2.18.51 beating Canada’s Kelsey Wog by one hundredth of a second, with team mate Chloe Tutton taking the bronze medal in a time of 2.18.83. Molly’s gold medal was Great Britain’s only gold of the Championships.
Molly, who learnt to swim with Ripley RASCALS then flew home and immediately competed at the ASA’s short course National championships at Ponds Forge – winning three individual titles and a relay gold with Loughborough. She won the 200m breaststroke in a new British record time of 2.17.98. She also won 100m breaststroke, and 200m individual medley.
Molly has had a tremendous year, having also reached the Olympic final of the 200m breaststroke in Rio in the summer.
Congratulations Molly, from everyone at RASCALS
