Three Ripley Rascals swimmers – Noah Tannahill, Anna Booth and George Whittle – joined other young Derbyshire swimmers at Etwall Leisure Centre recently for the first of three Talent Camps.

These have been organised by Derbyshire ASA in line with Swim England’s Talent Programme, and are designed to develop young swimmers throughout the country. There will be three sessions throughout 2017, supervised by Jamie Main, head coach at Derventio Excel, Derbyshire’s elite swim squad. The sessions will each be attended by 36 swimmers (18 male, 18 female) who will be 11 years old by the end of the year.

Noah, Anna and George were selected based on their excellent performances at the recent County Championships. They joined up with swimmers from clubs all over Derbyshire, including City of Derby, Etwall, Swadlincote, Glossop, Ilkeston and Matlock.

In addition, Ripley’s highly regarded Head Coach Glenn Fisher was selected as one of the coaches to help run the sessions, further evidence of his growing reputation.
