Last weekend a small team of 6 of our senior lifesavers travelled to Swansea for the first National championship in 2017. Wales Surf Lifesaving Association, organise their own National championships, which attracts all the Surf clubs from Wales plus the top RLSS clubs from around the country, including RASCALS. Our main competition focus is the RLSS speeds at the end of Feb and on this showing we will be competing very strongly once again this year.

Emily Field is in fine form, taking Gold in all of her races in the 16 and under category except the Rescue Medley where she had to settle for silver, and most importantly improving her PB in all but 1 race.
Terry Fox was competing in a very strongly contested masters 40/49 category. Throughout the 2 days a guy from Pen Y Bont kept him off the Gold placing until the last race when Terry gave everything to beat him by 0.04 seconds to take the Gold. Very shaky legs after that effort!
Terry joined senior lads, Frazer (recovering from a flu virus!) Sam and Ant in the relays, winning Silver in the manikin really and 4th in the medley. Individually our boys, secured top 10 finishes in Rescue Medley, 8th plus PB (Sam)and 5th Manikin Tow (Ant)
Jennie, competing in the womens category is also showing a return to top form, achieving 5th plus PB and 6th placings in Rescue Medley and Super lifesaver.

Great positive atmosphere throughout the 2 days..bring on the RLSS Nationals
